As part of its partnership with INREMP, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 10 continues it series of ceremonial turnovers of its Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Project with five (5) turnovers ranging from late December 2020 to January 2021.


The SSF are part of INREMP’s Livelihood Enhancement Support-2 (LES-2) subproject which aims to provide quality equipment, machineries, and/or facilities for its partner People’s Organizations (POs), which would benefit their lives and their corresponding livelihood/enterprise. LES also ensures the POs of their efficient production of their produce, making it ready for public consumption.


It was successfully turned over to the five POs from the Bukidnon Upper River Basin (BURB) namely: Balubal Integrated Social Forestry Farmers Association (BISFFA), Man-ai Abaca Farmers Association (MAFA), Kapunungan sa Bato Upland Tribal Tillers Inc. (KAB-UTT), Kapunungan Alang s Ugmang Masanag og Haruhay nga Nilungtaran (KAUMAHAN), Pugaan Abaca Growers Association (PUGA).


The last turnover of SSFs for CY 2020 was conducted on December 23, 2020 with PO BISFFA from Balubal, Cagayan de Oro City wherein they received eight (8) SSFs with a total value of P884,000.00. These are the following they received: All-weather Solar Dryer, Weighing Scale, Coffee Pulper, Coffee Dehuller, Sorting Table, Roaster Machine, Grinder Machine, and Moisture Meter.


CDO Mayor Oscar Moreno congratulated the PO BISFFA for being one of the recipients of a foreign-funded project, even adding that “it is quite a feat considering that ADB, just like any other foreign funders, follows a stringent screening process in the identification/choice of beneficiaries.”


As turnovers resumed in 2021, PO MAFA from Tignapoloan, Cagayan de Oro City received 2 Abaca Decorticating Machines amounting to P188,898.00 during a ceremonial turnover last January 19, 2021. PENRO Misamis Oriental Ferdinand Dagulo congratulated PO MAFA and even expressed that these equipment serve as tangible proof that the program is real and works to the benefit of the farmers.


The following day, January 20, 2021, one (1) unit of Abaca Decorticating Machine amounting to P94,499.00 was successfully turned-over to PO KAB-UTT from Dansolihon, Cagayan de Oro City.


Moreover, PO KAUMAHAN from Claveria, Misamis Oriental also received eight (8) SSFs amounting to P884,000.00 in the morning of January 28, 2021. These are also: All-weather Solar Dryer, Weighing Scale, Coffee Pulper, Coffee Dehuller, Sorting Table, Roaster Machine, Grinder Machine, and Moisture Meter. In the afternoon of the same day, PO PUGA, also from Claveria, Misamis Oriental, received 1 unit of Abaca Decorticating Machine amounting to P94,499.00.


Aside from the respective PO members and officers as well as their respective city mayors and/or barangay officials, the ceremonial turnovers were also attended by DENR Regional Executive Director Arleigh J. Adorable, DENR Assistant Regional Director Aldrich Resma, DTI-10 Assistant Regional Director Ermedio Abang, DTI-10 Regional Director Linda Boniao, DTI-10 Special Projects Officer Jocelyn Rosales, DTI-Misamis Oriental OIC-Provincial Director Almer Masillones, DTI-Misamis Oriental Business Development Division Chief Elsie Limosnero, NCIP Initao Community Service Center OIC Chief, Mariam Muhamadali.



 DTI 10 Regional Director Linda Boniao and Mayor Oscar Moreno headed the ribbon cutting for the SSFs turned over to the BISFFA PO.



 Tribal leaders complete their ritual ceremony for business success and to invoke the protection and permission of the spirits for the safe use of the machines.
